Why a revolving head is so important to professionals The head of the vice rotates through 360 degrees about its horizontal axis, without need to release the work. The rotating head is held in a robust cast steel pedestal which forms a rigid clamp secured by a locking key. Work can therefore be carried out in very confined areas, the vice head being rotated to the most convenient position without sacrificing the securest possible hold. Either of two pairs of jaws is selected by rotating the head. One pair is flat, the other concave for pipes, bars and cylindrical work. The jaw liners are made of hardened steel. The lead screw and nut are totally enclosed within the rotatable cylindrical housing. The assembly is packed with grease and closed by an end cover. It is virtually impossible for swarf and dirt to enter, giving the screw and nut a practically unlimited life. The special high-duty nut ensures complete rigidity. The top of the pedestal is flat so that, with the jaws turned horizontally, the body can be used as an anvil. Independent tests show that the 102 mm vice can exert a clamping force of 4000 lbs without sustaining any damage. The clamping capacity of the 150 and 200 mm vices is in proportion. Jaw opening with precise tolerances Not only will the Swindens Revolving Head Vice allow increased accuracy in your own work, but you'll soon notice that it is built to very high tolerances. This quality of build means the vice is way ahead of the competition in terms of usability and reliability. Rotating Base for unparalleled versatility With the ability to be moved to wherever it is needed, the Swindens Revolving Head Vice will son find more jobs than you could imagine. Quite simply, this helps with processes that no other vice could consider tackling. This vice is an anvil as well It simply isn't sensible or viable to buy tools which aren't capable of tackling the jobs they need to. Nor is it sensible to buy tool which will need replacing soon.
